Ivanovic nominated for the Tennis Hall of Fame
In October, Ivanovic was announced as a 2022 nominee for the induction into the Tennis Hall of Fame.
“Many of the women who I looked up to as a young girl are Hall of Famers, and to be nominated to receive an honor that places my career alongside those who inspired me is just incredible,” Ivanovic said after beeing nominated for the Tennis Hall of Fame.
Ivanovic and Novak Djokovic both made the Australian Open in 2008. Ivanovic ended runner-up but Djokovic won his maiden Grand Slam title after beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final. “On the Tour we were very close friends…
But then later over the years he had his own part and I had my own part… But what he has achieved is really amazing,” Ivanovic said. Ivanovic retired a long ago but Djokovic is still active and one of the best players in the world.
Djokovic’s participation at the Australian Open remains a mistery as the Serb has yet to confirm or deny his participation at Melbourne Park.
