Eddie Hearn, promoter for undefeated welterweight contender Conor Benn, says he would be happy to make a fight with former world champion Maurice Hooker.
Hearn named former world champions, Hooker, Robert Guerrero and Adrien Broner as potential fights for his young, rising star Benn, who in his last fight back in December scored a brutal knockout of former champion Chris Algieri in four rounds.
With Broner looking to have a tuneup fight first and Guerrero being aligned with Premier Boxing Champions, Hearn says he would be willing to make a clash with Hooker, who in his last fight was stopped by top welterweight Vergil Ortiz Jr. in March.
Last year, Benn picked up wins over Algieri, Adrian Granados and Samuel Vargas.
Hearn views Hooker as a very tough opponent for his young fighter.
“Any of them,” Hearn told Pro Boxing Fans. “Adrien Broner does want a comeback fight first and then he talks about fighting Conor Benn.
“Guerrero is with PBC, who don’t seem to want to send fighters into big fights with us and Hooker is a fighter and he’s a very good fighter. It’s a very, very tough fight. He had a great fight with Ortiz last time out, got stopped with a hand injury. If he wants it and the team want it, very happy to make that fight in London.”
