ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia women’s golf team will begin the “spring” portion of its 2021-22 season this weekend by hosting the Lady Bulldog Invitational at the University of Georgia Golf Course.
The 36-hole event on Saturday and Sunday will be an individual tournament with no team scores kept.
Eight Bulldogs – Caroline Craig, Alison Crenshaw, Céleste Dao, Caterina Don, Isabella Holpfer, Jo Hua Hung, Candice Mahé and Zoë Walker – will compete along with golfers from Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, UAB, Wake Forest and Western Kentucky. Play is slated to begin with a shotgun at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning and as much golf played as daylight will allow. The remainder of the 36 holes will be played on Sunday.
The Bulldogs enjoyed a strong fall campaign headlined by a team victory at the Illini Invitational. Georgia shot 15-under – the second-best tournament score in school history – en route to the win at historic Medinah Country Club. The Bulldogs also recorded their best single round ever during the fall, a 14-under 274 in the second round of the Cougar Classic.
