Former NBA champion Richard Jefferson didn’t hold back as he eviscerated Gilbert Arenas after the ex-Washington Wizards star questioned why RJ was drafted before him.
For those not in the know, the two were teammates in college at the University of Arizona, forming part of the Wildcats team that reached the National Championship in 2001. They entered the 2001 NBA Draft together, though Jefferson was selected in the lottery at no. 13 overall, while Arenas fell to the second round at no. 31 with the Golden State Warriors.
It appears, however, that Arenas was not happy about falling to the second round. Agent Zero opened up about it in an interview and expressed his confusion why the third or fourth option in their team was selected before him, who was the top scorer for the Wildcats.
In response to that obvious criticism, Jefferson dropped a no-filter response to Arenas on TikTok and absolutely burned him. The ex-NBA journeyman broke down the story on how Arenas didn’t make the best impression (to say the least) in his pre-draft tests and interviews, showing immediate attitude red flags,
Jefferson called Arenas an “a**hole” and an “idiot” as he shared how the three-time All-Star refused to do a stress test because he was in Chucks, and how he said he wants to be an “international pimp.”

Furthermore, Richard Jefferson even teased about a little secret he has about Gilbert Arenas on what he did the night before the National Championship game.
Jefferson is known to never hold back in his thoughts, and it’s always fun entertainment when he opens his mouth and comments about NBA stuff. He is a genius when it comes to rebuttals, and he proved that once again in his latest TikTok video.
Hopefully, though, we get to hear from Arenas his response to the story Jefferson shared. Of course he might have a different version, but that should only make things better. Who knows, maybe they can each interview each other to set things straight. Now that will be prime All-Star break content!
