ANNAPOLIS, Md. –– The Navy men’s tennis team will play four matches at three different locations this coming weekend. On Saturday, the Mids (11-3) will play host to Morgan State (1-2) at 10 a.m. and George Mason (1-1) at 1:30 p.m. in the Tose Family Tennis Center. Then on Sunday, one half of the team will face Duquesne (3-2) at 1 p.m. at Alpha Tennis and Fitness in Pittsburgh, Pa., and the other half will play Fordham (4-4) at 3 p.m. at Life Time Athletic in Harrison, N.Y.

Navy (11-3)
The Mids produced a 4-0 record last week as they defeated Delaware (6-1), Fairmont State (6-1), Fairleigh Dickinson (6-1) and Villanova (7-0).
Gavin Segraves (Jr., Charlottesville, Va.) led Navy on the week with a 5-0 record. He lost just eight games in winning three singles matches and two doubles contests. Segraves was named this week’s Patriot League Player of the Week for his efforts.
Additionally, six Mids posted 2-0 records in singles on the weekend and three compiled 3-0 records in doubles.
Morgan State (1-2)
The Bears began the season with a 4-3 loss to a Saint Francis U., team that lost to Navy, 6-1. Morgan State then won a 4-3 decision over Lehigh and dropped a 4-0 match to VCU.
Morgan State did not compete during the 2021 spring season.
Navy holds a 9-0 advantage over Morgan State in the all-time series between the teams. Those matches took place from 2011-17 and 2019-20.
George Mason (1-1)
The lone two matches played by the Patriots this season saw them win a 5-2 decision over Mary Washington and drop a 7-0 match to James Madison.
George Mason registered a 3-6 record last season.
Navy leads the all-time series by the count of 18-1. The teams last met in 2019 when the Mids posted a 4-0 victory.
Duquesne (3-2, prior to a Saturday match vs. Northern Kentucky)
The Dukes have recorded wins over Mount St. Mary’s (5-2), Saint Francis U. (5-2) and Carnegie Mellon (6-1) and have lost matches to Cleveland State (7-0) and Carnegie Mellon (5-2).
Duquesne compiled a 5-2 record during the 2021 campaign.
Navy and Duquesne have met just twice before. The Mids posted a 6-1 victory in the inaugural 1993 match and also won a 4-3 decision three years ago.
Fordham (4-4)
Included among Fordham’s results this season have been wins over Quinnipiac (6-1) and Queens College (4-3) and losses to St. Francis Brooklyn (4-1) and Marist (4-3).
The Rams ended last season with a 6-6 record.
Navy holds a 2-0-1 advantage over Fordham in previous matches. The teams first played to a tie (score unknown) during the 1915-16 season. The Mids then went on to post a 5-2 win in 1995 and a 4-3 victory in 2019.
