SANTA CRUZ WARRIORS FALL TO NBA G LEAGUE IGNITE, 127-119
SANTA CRUZ, CA – In Tuesday night’s exhibition game at Kaiser Permanente Arena, the Santa Cruz Warriors fell to the NBA G League Ignite, 127-119.
Warriors Guard Kendall Smith had 19 points and 12 assists and forward LJ Figueroa finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Ryan Taylor had 15 points and five rebounds off the bench.
NBA G League Ignite Center Michael Foster Jr. had 16 points and 11 rebounds off the bench. Forward Jaden Hardy had 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists and guard Dyson Daniels finished the night with 21 points and seven rebounds.
The NBA G League Ignite took an early lead and were up by as many as 24 points in the first half, yet the Warriors were able to come back to within nine points, 69-60 to enter halftime. Santa Cruz closed the lead to just six points in the third quarter, but a late offensive strike by the Ignite brought their lead to 95-81 heading into the final quarter. The lead was ultimately too large for the Warriors to overcome, falling to the Ignite, 127-119.
