Lightning seek rebound against Oilers
The Tampa Bay Lightning have been rolling all season, but enter their game against the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place on Saturday (10 p.m. ET; CBC, SN, SN360, CITY, BSSUN, ESPN+, NHL LIVE) having lost two straight after starting a five-game road trip with a 6-3 win at the Chicago Blackhawks. Tampa Bay (37-14-6) has been outscored 11-5 in losses at the Winnipeg Jets (7-4 on Tuesday) and Calgary Flames (4-1 on Thursday). The Lightning seek to avoid three straight losses for the first time since Dec. 30-Jan. 2 (0-2-1). The Oilers (31-23-4) are fourth in the Pacific Division and need points. They’re hoping to build off a 4-3 overtime win against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday that ended a three-game skid (0-2-1) and get some revenge after the Lightning defeated them 5-3 in Tampa Bay on Feb. 23. — David Satriano, staff writer
Holtby eyes 300th NHL win
Braden Holtby is seeking his 300th NHL win and could reach the milestone when the Dallas Stars (32-21-3) host the New York Rangers (8 p.m. ET; BSSW, MSG, ESPN+, NHL LIVE). Holtby could become the second goalie this week (Craig Anderson of the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday) and sixth active NHL goalie to reach 300 wins. Holtby is 13-10-1 with a .918 save percentage and one shutout in 26 regular-season games against the Rangers and was 9-12 with a .933 save percentage and two shutouts against them in 21 Stanley Cup Playoff games during his time with the Capitals. Rangers goalie and Hart Trophy candidate Igor Shesterkin leads the NHL in save percentage (.939) but allowed four goals before being removed in the second period of a 6-2 road loss to the St. Louis Blues on Thursday; it was only the fourth time in 38 games this season he’s allowed four or more for New York (36-17-5), which has lost two straight. — Pete Jensen, director, senior fantasy editor
