It’s a sibling rivalry Wednesday night on national TV. Both Nick and Marcus Foligno are playing tonight as Nick’s Bruins squares off against Marcus’ Wild on TNT at 7:30 p.m. ET.
It’s the second time these two will face each other this season, with Minnesota previously grabbing a 3-2 win on Jan. 6. The two Foligno brothers have squared off multiple times during their careers, so Wednesday’s game is familiar territory for the two.
The brothers are one of a number of siblings currently in the NHL. Some of the best stars in the game are comprised of brothers and in some cases, both on the same club. In fact, Tuesday saw the Robertson brothers, Nick and Jason, going head-to-head with the Maple Leafs playing the Stars.
Here is a look at all the brothers playing in the NHL this season.

Who are the best brothers currently playing in the NHL?
Jack and Quinn Hughes
Soft hands. Speed. Play-making ability. Those are the qualities you need to be a Hughes brother in the NHL.
Neither Jack nor Quinn wasted time establishing themselves as dominant offensive weapons. Jack has been a point-per-game player this season with the Devils, with 44 points in 39 games. Quinn is once again racking up assists with 43 in 55 games with the Canucks this season.
There soon will be a third Hughes brother in the NHL. The youngest brother, Luke, was drafted by the Devils with the No. 4 pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. He’s currently a freshman at the University of Michigan, where Quinn attended as well.
Brady and Matthew Tkachuk
You won’t find a better pair of brothers that combined skill with agitation. Brady and Matthew learned after their father, Keith, to play a physical, get-under-your-skin type of game, while also contributing offensively.
In his sixth season with the Flames, Matthew has 68 points in 58 games this season. Brady, who was named captain of the Senators ahead of this season, has registered 44 points in 56 games.
They don’t play each other often, competing in different conferences, but when they do, you know the sibling rivalry is on.

Nick and Marcus Foligno
Need a big body to play a power forward role? Enter the Folignos.
The two brothers are known for their physical presence and leadership on and off the ice. Nick spent six seasons in Columbus as the captain of the Blue Jackets before he was traded at the deadline to the Maple Leafs. He’s currently with the Bruins where he rotates as an alternate captain.
Marcus has carved out a role with the Wild as a bruising winger who is having a career year offensively with 31 points in 53 games. He was named one of the two alternate captains ahead of this season.
Seth and Caleb Jones
One of the few pairs of brothers playing on the same team, the Blackhawks acquired both Caleb and Seth Jones in separate trades this offseason. Seth came over in a trade from the Blue Jackets while Caleb was a part of the Duncan Keith trade to Edmonton.
Seth has proved to be Chicago’s No. 1 defenseman, recording 39 points in 56 games with the Blackhawks. Caleb has proved to be a solid depth addition with 11 points in 35 games.

Dylan and Ryan Strome
It was a rocky start to the NHL careers for both of them, but Dylan and Ryan Strome have found suitable roles for themselves in the league.
Dylan is with the Blackhawks, playing a top-center role for the team. He’s well on his way to surpassing his previous career-high in goals (17) with 16 this season, totaling 32 points in 47 games. Ryan has been a strong No. 2 center for the Rangers, posting 43 points in 55 games.
Chris and Brandon Tanev
They’re not flashy, but the Tanev brothers are exactly the kind of players you need on a team.
Brandon plays a defensive bottom-six role, known for his relentless forecheck and nose for the net. He was on his way to a career year in Seattle with 15 points in 30 games before he tore his ACL, cutting his season short. Chris is arguably one of the best defensive defensemen, playing a solid, steady game on the Flames’ blue line.
