ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Houston Women’s Golf continues its spring season when it tees off at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, beginning Friday morning at UGA Golf Course.
Teams will play 18 holes each day with split-tee starts of No. 1 and No. 10 beginning at 7:30 a.m. (CDT) Friday and Saturday and a 7 a.m. (CDT) split tee start for Sunday’s Final Round.
The Cougars enter this weekend’s event after finishing 12th at the MountainView Collegiate at MountainView Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz., on March 18-20.
At that event, senior Annie Kim posted a 3-under 213, thanks to a 67 in the Second Round and tied for 18th to lead the Cougars.

THE LINEUP
Under the leadership of Carolyn Macow Leatherwood Head Coach Lydia Gumm, the Cougars will be represented by senior Annie Kim, senior Ariana Saenz, sophomore Delaney Martin, sophomore Nicole Abelar and senior Maria Jose Martinez.
This season, Kim leads the Cougars with a 72.52 scoring average and 10 rounds of par or better, including four in the 60s. The Seoul native has posted three Top-20 finishes with two in the Top 10, including a season-best fourth-place showing at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 4-6, 2021.
Fellow senior Ariana Saenz stands second on the team with a 74.10 average and seven rounds of par or better.
TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete against student-athletes from Alabama, Arkansas, Charleston, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Louisville, Mercer, Mississippi, Mississippi State, South Carolina, USC, Texas, Texas A&M and Wake Forest.
PAIRINGS
For Friday’s First Round, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from Mississippi, beginning of No. 1 at 8:15 a.m. (CDT).

UP NEXT
Following the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, the Cougars close out their regular season when they compete at The Bruzzy at Winstar Golf Club in Thackerville, Okla., on April 11-12.
From there, Houston take its first steps in the postseason when it competes at the American Athletic Conference Championships, set for April 17-19 at Pinehurst #6 – Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C.
The Cougars will learn their NCAA postseason fate during the Selection Show, airing at 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, on Golf Channel.
Seventy-two teams and 12 individuals not on those teams will compete at six NCAA Regional sites across the nation. Those venues include Stanford Golf Course (Stanford, Calif.); Vanderbilt Legends Club (Franklin, Tenn.); The Championship Course at UNM (Albuquerque, N.M.); University of Michigan Golf Course (Ann Arbor, Mich.); Karsten Creek Golf Club (Stillwater, Okla.) and Seminole Legacy Golf Club (Tallahassee, Fla.).
