I tell my students to turn the left shoulder long and the hands short to approximate waist-high. As if your hands were under an invisible fence and couldn’t go any higher.
You must take the club back with the left shoulder, never just hands. It would be your right shoulder for the left-handed golfer.
The hands should be very quiet, the left shoulder should take the club back and the wrists should cock up (thumbs to the sky). To prevent the cupping of the wrist on the backswing and trying to scoop the ball on the way down.
Point the thumbs up on the backswing and thumbs up on the follow-through.
To spin a wedge or any other iron, you must strike the ball first, then the ground. The divot should be ahead of the ball after impact.
Don’t forget to enjoy this great game called golf.
