Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is not exactly new to controversy. With his flamboyant personality and much-maligned decisions, he has often been vilified. But with an ongoing paternity lawsuit, it seems Jones is trying to lay low this time around.
Alexandra Davis, a 25-year-old congressional aide, sued Jones earlier this month, claiming that he is her biological father and that he reached a six-figure settlement with her mother. He has already motioned the judge to dismiss the case, pointing out that Davis is just trying to extort money from him and the Cowboys.
Despite the heavy matter, the 79-year-old Jones still attended the NFL owners’ meetings in Palm Beach, Florida. When asked about the case, the Cowboys chief had a succinct yet firm answer, per the report of Dallas Morning News’ David Moore.

Jones isn’t exactly someone who remains mum on issues, but the latest controversy he’s embroiled in seems to be an exception. We could only assume that he’s been advised by his legal team to keep things private since the case is still ongoing. Any untoward comment could hurt the Cowboys.
Davis already refuted Jones’ allegations that she was only trying to get paid, as reported by ESPN. She even confidently challenged Jones to present any evidence that “supports either one of these defamatory and false claims.”
The Cowboys have been active in the offseason with their slew of roster changes, but it’s abundantly clear that Jones has other important things to deal with off the field.
