Dodge infamously bowed out of NASCAR racing at the end of 2012. This disappointed many fans, as Dodge has historically been synonymous with American-based racing.
Dodge might be coming back to NASCAR following an announcement made by the ex-NASCAR driver, Robby Gordon.
According to Gordon, he has been in talks with Dodge, and it looks like Gordon and his team will build the next-generation Dodge. As you might recall, Dodge’s departure from the sport was quite controversial. At the end of the 2012 season, there was no interest in Dodge’s powertrains. Most teams moved over to Roush-prepared Ford engines, leaving Dodge with no customers.
Dodge was already under the ownership of FCA, which preferred spending the money earmarked for motorsport on Formula 1.
