It’s moving day at the Masters, but will any golfer be able to move enough to catch Scottie Scheffler?
Scheffler, the No. 1 golfer in the world, sits far ahead of the Masters field with a score of 8-under par. He notched birdies on four of his final six holes to open up a five-stroke lead, ahead of four other golfers, including defending champion Hideki Matsuyama.
Matsuyama is in contention despite dealing with a neck injury that forced him to withdraw from the Valero Texas Open last weekend. He is looking to become the first repeat champion since Tiger Woods won the event in both 2001 and 2002.
Speaking of Woods, he managed to make the cut by shooting 1-over par through the first 36 holes. He has looked strong in his return from leg injuries suffered during a car accident in February of 2021, but many are wondering how he will hold up on his third day of the tournament.
Just 15 golfers were under par at the Masters after Friday’s action. Will more join that group on Saturday, or will another blustery day give players headaches on one of the PGA Tour’s most difficult courses?

Masters live updates, highlights from Saturday’s Round 3
All times Eastern.
3:05 p.m. — Scottie Scheffler is off to a good start. He got a par on the first hole before launching a good-looking drive on the second hole.
2:53 p.m. — Collin Morikawa made a nice putt to move to 2-under par for the tournament. However, he missed a par save on the ensuing hole to drop back to 1-under again.

2:50 p.m. — Charl Schwartzel and leader Scottie Scheffler have both officially teed off. Every golfer is now either finished with their round or on the course for Day 3.
2:35 p.m. — Tiger Woods saved par once again after coming up short of the green. He was largely able to do so thanks to this beautiful third shot.

2:27 p.m. — We finally have some movement on moving day. Justin Thomas has shot 2-under through three holes to move into second place. He’s still well behind Scottie Scheffler, but he can put some pressure on the young leader with a strong perfromance.

2:15 p.m. — Woods ended up in the bunker off the Par-3 sixth hole. However, he hit a nice shot from the bunker and nearly holed it, so he looks poised to save par.
2:07 p.m. — Tiger Woods’ is having a tough day with the putter. He just four-putted the fifth hole, missing two short ones before getting a tap in. The double bogey score drops him to 3-over par and 11 back of Scottie Scheffler.
2:05 p.m. — We’re officially 45 minutes away from leader Scottie Scheffler teeing off. He will be paired with Charl Schwartzel. Several of the other notable under-par competitors are teeing off or set to shortly, as Justin Thomas, Hideki Matsuyama and Dustin Johnson will all bear watching on Saturday.
1:59 p.m. — Tiger Woods has hit 12 of his last 14 fairways. His swing off the tee has been solid in his return to golf.
1:47 p.m. — Viktor Hovland is the lone player that has posted a 2-under par score so far today. He has done that through 14 holes, so given the relatively cold temperatures and the gusting wind, we may not see many low scores.
1:44 p.m. — Woods just missed the green at the Par-3 third hole to the left. He avoided the green-side bunker, but he will now have to scramble to make par — barring what would be an incredible chip-in for birdie.
1:31 p.m. — Tiger Woods birdied the second hole. He nearly was able to chip in for an eagle, but he just missed. The tap-in brings him back to even par for the day and 1-over for the tournament.

1:22 p.m. — Woods couldn’t quite reach the green in two on the Par-5 second hole. He came up just short despite a 364-yard drive. He will look for a good chip onto the green to set up a birdie putt.
1:12 p.m. — Woods reached the green in two at the Par-4 first hole, but he three-putted to start with a bogey. He is now sitting at 2-over par for the tournament and 10 strokes off the lead.
1:01 p.m. — Tiger Woods has officially teed off for Round 3 of the Masters. He hit his drive straight off the tee and into the fairway. A good start for him as he looks to get back below par; he begins Saturday’s round at 1-over par.
12:45 p.m. — So far on moving day, Marc Leishman (-2) is shooting the lowest round. Only eight of the 26 golfers on the course are shooting under par while 10 are over par. Four golfers have carded scores of plus-3 or worse to start the day.
10:55 a.m. — Two things to watch during Saturday’s play: the wind isn’t as strong as it was on Friday afternoon, but it could still pose a problem for some of the golfers. Also, the course is drying out a bit on the third day, so that means the greens should play faster than they did to begin the tournament.
10:45 a.m. — We’re off for another beautiful day at Augusta. Four golfers are currently on the course, the most notable of whom is Viktor Hovland. The leaders won’t tee off until later in the day, as Scottie Scheffler will begin at 2:50 p.m. Meanwhile, Tiger Woods will start at 1 p.m. ET.
