It is a unique event each April as visitors to downtown Kent are invited to Putt Around Downtown.
Taking place on April 16 from noon to 4 p.m., Putt Around Downtown takes place inside the DORA (Kent’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area).
Each business designs their own putting hole. Scorecards, provided by Birdie Shack, are returned to the Barflyy, the 19th hole, where prizes are awarded.

Watching the Masters
It is an exciting year for the Masters.
Watching Tiger Woods’ comeback is, of course, a focal point.
However, local fans may also want to keep their eyes on Kent State alumni Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes and Jason Kokrak, alumnus of both Warren JFK and Xavier University.
Kokrak got off to a great start, scoring an ace during the Par-3 contest.
Akron native Harold Varner III also makes his Masters debut. Varner’s family moved to North Carolina as he graduated from Forestview High School in Gastonia and played for East Carolina.
Northern Ohio PGA
The Northern Ohio PGA hosts tournaments for professionals, amateurs and juniors throughout the season with more than 70 golf events filling the schedule.
Tournaments begin in April.
Executive Director of the Northern Ohio PGA is David Griffith, former tournament director and an alumnus of the Kent State University Golden Flashes varsity golf team.
