The Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrerro Jr. took Major League Baseball by storm last season. He slashed .311 with 48 home runs while driving in 111 runs and scoring 123. Yet, somehow Guerrerro Jr. found a way to top that on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays slugger mashed three home runs in Yankee Stadium against the New York Yankees. In doing so, Guerrerro Jr. became the second youngest player in MLB history to hit three home runs in the same game.

Guerrerro Jr. is only 23 years and 28 days old.
When the Blue Jays infielder entered the league, there was hope that he might someday be as good as hit father, Vladimir Guerrerro. At this point, it’s safe to say that he is on track to surpass his father.
Unlike his dad, Guerrerro Jr. is not nearly a free-swinging at the plate. He has the plate discipline of a 10-year veteran already. That was shown in his 86 walks last season, which helped create an on-base-percentage over .400.
But he also carries the same power as his dad once did. The Blue Jays are incredibly loaded with young talent, particularly in the lineup. But Guerrerro Jr. is not the only son of an elite ball player. Hall of Famer Craig Biggio’s son Cavan is on the team. Dante Bichette’s son, Bo, is a budding superstar as well.
The only question for Toronto will be whether or not their pitching can hold up. The lineup will likely be among the league’s best all year, led by Guerrerro Jr.
