Ja Morant’s battle with Karl-Anthony Towns wasn’t the only Morant-Towns fight that happened during the Minnesota Timberwolves–Memphis Grizzlies Game 1 playoffs showdown on Saturday. In an amusing turn of events, cameras caught the fathers of the two NBA players jokingly jawing at each other on the sidelines.
With just a minute left in the game and the Timberwolves ahead 122-113, the two teased each other once again. It’s all fun, though, as they dapped and hugged it out in the end.
Those were definitely proud dads out there.

Unfortunately for Tee Morant, his son and the Grizzlies lost the opener 130-117. Ja Morant exploded for 32 points, four rebounds and eight assists, but his efforts were not enough to counter the huge production from Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns.
KAT actually finished with a monster double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds as the Grizzlies struggled to stop his one-two combination with Edwards (who had 36 points in his NBA playoffs debut).
Karl Towns, Sr. will certainly be happy with the extra bragging rights he got with his son and the Timberwolves winning. The next time he meets Tee Morant, we’re all hoping he uses the win to rub salt into the wound. The NBA playoffs are just way better with some lighthearted jabs and fun rebuttals, after all.
