As reported by BUT, Bruno Genesio’s impressive Rennes side could be set to overhaul their midfield this summer and are looking to Dutch football as well as their youth ranks for possible reinforcements.
With central midfielder Jonas Martin’s contract being allowed to run down and Benjamin Bourigeaud, one of the players of the Ligue 1 season, seeing interest from Italy, Rennes will need replacements. One is expected to be the club’s 18-year-old academy graduate Lesley Ugochukwu, who has been interesting English clubs Arsenal and Tottenham ahead of the window.
Rennes are also looking at adding 25-year-old defensive midfielder Laros Duarte from Eredivisie club Groningen, who was watched in person by SRFC scouts earlier this month against Ajax, and his Norwegian teammate Jörgen Strand Larsen, a 22-year-old forward who has 15 goals in 31 games this season.
