After another win, the girls soccer team advances to an 8-1-0 record
The girls soccer team beat Lawrence Free State Tuesday, April 26. The team scored early in the game with another goal to make the score 2-0 before half. The girls came back out in the second half scoring another two goals to end the game with a 4-0 win.
Junior Gracie Knight felt that even though this match was a quick turnaround from the team’s game on Monday, the girls were able to push through any aches and pains to get a satisfying result.
“I think we played well and competed together as a team,” Knight said. “Everyone was ready to play even though many of us were tired from the game before.”
The team had to work together to beat Lawrence Free State by four goals. Sophomore Kate Ricker thought the game went well and was a good win to get.
“The team played pretty well,” Ricker said. “This win was a win that was expected and needed. We connected lots of passes, played hard and finished.”
Now, as the team edges towards the end of the season, the girls look forward to what’s next and how the team
has come together and evolved.
“This season has been one of the best seasons yet because we are all so close and get along outside of the field which allows us to play better together on the field,” Knight said. “Being together every single day has been really fun.”
