Highlights: A year after finishing as a state semifinalist, Koth captured the UIL Class 4A boys state singles championship with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Zach Couch of Longview Spring Hill. Koth didn’t drop a set in three matches at the state tournament.
Kyle Totorica
School: Reagan
Division: Singles
Class: Senior
Highlights: Totorica, who is signed with Xavier, captured his first Class 6A boys singles championship in his third trip to the UIL state tournament. Totorica defeated El Paso Coronado’s Ian Uraga 7-5, 6-4 to win the title. Totorica advanced to the state final as a freshman, and after the pandemic-suspended 2020 season, he was a state semifinalist last year.
GIRLS PLAYER OF THE YEAR FINALISTS

School: Madison
Division: Doubles
Class: Mattea Bowe (junior), Mya Bowe (freshman)
Highlights: The sister tandem reached the UIL Class 6A state semifinals, beating Hallie Jeffers and Rashmi Singal 6-2, 6-3 in the quarterfinals before losing to eventual state champions Rosabella Andrade and Brennan Becicka of Southlake Carroll. The Bowe sisters were Madison’s first-ever UIL state tournament entry.

School: Boerne Champion
Division: Singles
Class: Sophomore
Highlights: Lewis advanced to the UIL state tournament for the second year in a row. The District 26-5A champion didn’t drop a set on her way to the Region IV-5A title.
