Chelsea interested in Casemiro
Chelsea will learn whether or not Real Madrid star Casemiro is available this summer soon after the Champions League final, reports Tom Hopkinson.
The Brazilian and his representatives will sit down after the Paris clash between Real and Liverpool on May 28 to resolve his future.
The 30-year-old, whose deal at the Bernabeu runs until June 2025, wants a raise but president Florentino Perez is adamant the club cannot give him one.
As a result, the LaLiga champions will study offers for the defensive midfielder and, if the right one comes in, they are prepared to let him go.
If Casemiro wants to stay on the same salary then Los Blancos will gladly keep him.
But if the decision is made that he wants to move on, they will tell suitors they must find around £42.5million.
Chelsea face a big summer in terms of their playing squad with several out of contract and others about to enter the final year of their deals.
Thomas Tuchel would also want to strengthen even if that wasn’t the case.
Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also keen on Casemiro but the player fancies the Premier League and a move to London appeals.
He will demand a three-year deal at Stamford Bridge if his meeting with Real confirms his exit.
