Oilers fans already are going through it enough, having watched their team go winless in the Western Conference Final against the Avalanche.
Mark Hubbard wanted to rub it in just a bit more.
The PGA golfer and Denver native trolled Oilers and Canadian hockey fans on Thursday at the Canadian Open, donning a Nathan MacKinnon Avalanche shirt over his golf apparel during Round 1.
It’s been 28 years since a Canadian team has won the Stanley Cup.
The @Avalanche just swept the last remaining Canadian team in the playoffs.

Edmonton was the last remaining Canadian team in the running to win the Stanley Cup Final after three made the playoffs. The Oilers knocked out their Alberta rivals, the Flames, in the second round, and the Maple Leafs were eliminated by the Lightning in the first. The Oilers had no answer for MacKinnon and the Avalanche in the conference finals, as they were swept 4-0 to end their season.
The Canucks, Jets, Senators and Canadiens all missed the 2022 postseason.
Colorado is still waiting for its opponent in the finals, as it will be either the Lightning or the Rangers coming out of the East. Tampa Bay holds a 3-2 series lead heading into Game 6 on Saturday night at Amalie Arena in Florida.
Meanwhile at the Canadian Open, Hubbard shot a 67 in Round 1, putting him 3-under par and just outside the top 10 at St. Georges with Round 2 action starting Friday.

When was the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup?
It’s been nearly 30 years since a team from north of the border was crowned NHL champions.
The Canadiens were the last team to do it, which came in 1993.
During that finals series against the Kings, Montreal fell down 1-0 after a 4-1 win for Los Angeles in Game 1. The Kings looked to be primed to go up 2-0 in the series, holding a 2-1 lead in Game 2 late in the third, but Marty McSorley was assessed a penalty for using an illegal stick.
On the ensuing power play, Eric Desjardins scored the tying goal that forced OT. In the extra period, Desjardins needed just 51 seconds to complete the hat trick and win the game. Montreal went on to win Games 3 and 4 in OT thanks to game-winning goals by John LeClair in both, and grab a 4-1 win in Game 5 to clinch the Stanley Cup championship.
Canada has had a team in the finals six times since the Habs’ win in ’93, but each team came out on the losing side. The Canucks made it in 1994 and 2011, the Flames in 2004, the Oilers in 2006, the Senators in 2007 and the Canadiens in 2021.
