Cleveland Heights at Benedictine
What: Non-conference game
When: Sept. 3, 7 p.m.
Where: Euclid Community Stadium
Records: Cleveland Heights 2-0, Benedictine 0-2
Last week: Toledo Central Catholic def. Benedictine, 31-0, Cleveland Heights def. Garfield Heights, 69-28
For the record: The Bengals are certainly one of the best 0-2 teams in the area, if not Ohio. They’ve got a double-overtime loss to Walsh Jesuit and a loss to Toledo Central Catholic to their name, a team many feel could or will win the Division II state title this year. … The series is tied all-time 2-2, with Benedictine winning the last meeting, 30-12, in 2017. … Benedictine QB Lucas Kaltenbach has thrown for 321 yards and three touchdowns this year. Jace Ellis (8 catches, 178 yards) has been his favorite target. Luke Reed (114 yards) is the leading rusher. … Heights can put a lot of points on the board in a hurry, whether it’s through QB Darreon Fair through the air or the ground game that’s led by Fair and John Gordon. Benedictine’s defense will look to tighten things up this week after giving up a lot last week against Toledo CC.
