Honolulu was so dominant in the Little League World Series, the opponent pitchers kept beaning Hawaii batters.
No team in Little League World Series history has had so many batters beaned –five in one inning.
The character of Honolulu players was really outstanding. With no fights or arguments, they were well coached. In Major League Baseball, beaning is part of the game, but a lot of times it ends up in fighting. The batter would rush the pitcher’s mound to retaliate and fight.
The kids from Honolulu demonstrated more sportsmanship than some MLB professionals. They represented the islands well. They made Hawaii proud.
