LIV Golf has been successful in luring out the best talents from the PGA Tour. The high-paying deals by Greg Norman have been a boon for many professional golfers. And one of these players is Pat Perez, who recently boasted about his LIV Golf earnings and compared them to those from the PGA Tour. But to his surprise, golf fans reacted to the news in a way no one could have ever expected.

Perez is one of the players who silently transitioned to the LIV Golf league putting his entire PGA Tour career at stake. No matter what his fans thought about his decision, the golfer had all good things to say about his experience on the new tour. He said, “I’ve doubled my earnings on the Tour in 25 events compared to these three,”. According to the golfer, he has earned double the money after playing three LIV Golf tournaments than he had earned in 25 PGA Tour events.
But it was not easy to digest for anyone when it came to doubling his earnings. He has only played three events in the LIV Golf league and they might have been very profitable for him. But it would take a lot more than just three matches to double the four-time PGA Tour winner’s career earnings on the former tour.
If we look at Perez’s earnings from the last two years he played on the PGA Tour, his recent statements about his LIV Golf money still don’t add up. The golfer made a little more than $1 million in 2021-22 on the PGA Tour despite missing seven cuts. And in the previous full season of 2020-21, Perez made $1.2 million after making 21 cuts. While the total money he made in all three LIV Golf tournaments was $549,667, which is very short of the amount he made on the former tour in either of the years.
Golf Fans react to Pat Perez’s absurd claims
The golfer made unrealistic statements about his earnings in the post-game interview. However, now it was the fans’ turn to give their reactions to his claims about his LIV Golf earnings. Many fans denied knowing about the golfer at all. “I don’t even know who you are Pat,” a person said. While others stood by the PGA Tour and said that it requires a golfer to play well on the PGA Tour to earn money. Some even called out the LIV Golf league about paying the players to be “mediocre”. Here are some reactions from golf fans on Twitter:
That’s what happens when you’re not good on the @PGATOUR – it’s like he’s playing in the rich kid youth soccer league, and instead of plastic trophies for participating, they hand out bags if cash.
