Frances Tiafoe’s US Open stunner over Rafael Nadal rocked the tennis world, with few watching as avidly as Washington Wizards star guard Bradley Beal.
The three-time All-Star cheered on the Maryland-born Tiafoe in his four-set shocker, pumping his fists and nodding as the unexpected outcome unfolded.

Tiafoe was more than aware of Beal’s presence, acknowledging after the match how special it was that Washington D.C. franchise player would attend his match.
“My favorite basketball player in the NBA Bradley Beal got to watch this,” Tiafoe said. “… His first tennis match, that was super cool, talking to him after. Yeah, he wants to come again. It was cool. Special day for me.”
