MLB Network on Wednesday announced it will exclusively air the entire 2022 American League Division Series and American League Championship Series in Spanish-language this Postseason. The two AL Division Series are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 11, with a potential Game Five on Monday, October 17. The ALCS presented by loanDepot, is set to start on Wednesday, October 19, with a potential Game Seven set for Wednesday, October 26. Announcers for MLB Network’s Spanish-language ALDS and ALCS telecasts will be released in the coming weeks.
“We’re excited by the opportunity to produce Postseason baseball exclusively in Spanish,” said MLB Network President Bill Morningstar. “This extensive content initiative perfectly aligns with Major League Baseball’s ongoing effort to strengthen and expand its relationship with Latino baseball and sports fans. We will produce these games with care, passion and in a high-quality way that our viewers have come to expect over the years.”
MLB Network exclusively produced one Spanish-language ALDS telecast in 2016. In addition to airing on MLB Network, the Spanish-language ALDS and ALCS game telecasts will be available anywhere in the U.S. via an authenticated live stream to customers of participating pay TV providers through MLBNetwork.com/Watch. TBS will be the exclusive home of the 2022 AL Division Series and AL Championship series in English. The 2022 Postseason schedule, subject to change, begins on Friday, October 7 and can viewed in its entirety at MLB.com/postseason.
In addition to MLB Network’s Spanish-language production of the ALDS and ALCS, MLB Network will televise more than 200 hours of studio content this Postseason. The multiple Emmy Award-winning MLB Tonight will air live before and after every Postseason game, with reporters contributing on-site from every Postseason series. MLB Network will air extensive on-site coverage from the World Series, which is scheduled to start on Friday, October 28.
