TOURNAMENT SO FAR
Vegas skated to a 3-2 win against the Arizona Coyotes on Friday afternoon to kick off the weekend. Brendan Brisson scored twice for Vegas while Jordan Gustafson added the other goal. Isaiah Saville stood tall in net for the Golden Knights as the team started the showcase off with smiles all around.
In their second outing, the Golden Knights lost to the Los Angeles Kings, 5-4, in a shootout on Saturday afternoon. Lynden McCallum, Mason Primeau, Layton Ahac and Connor Corcoran found the back of the net for Vegas in the loss. Jesper Vikman held the Kings without a goal for the entirety of overtime despite the Golden Knights being shorthanded for the entire five-minute session.
ANAHEIM SCOUTING REPORT
Anaheim is looking for its first win of the tournament as the Ducks lost to the Sharks and Coyotes on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Five first-round picks are representing the Ducks at the Rookie Faceoff as the team rounds out the weekend on Monday in Mason McTavish (2021, 3rd overall), Pavel Mintyukov (2022, 10th overall), Nathan Gaucher (2022, 22nd overall), Jacob Perreault (2020, 27th overall) and Brayden Tracey (2019, 29th overall).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Main training camp opens for the Golden Knights on Wednesday, Sept. 21 as players report to City National Arena for the start of the 2022-23 season. On-ice sessions will begin Thursday, Sept. 22. Times will be communicated through the Vegas Golden Knights Twitter account.
