Tennis SA has today announced the player field for the Tennis SA State League All Stars, set to launch the 2022-23 Tennis SA State League season.
Tennis SA, in conjunction with the Renmark Paringa Council and Riverland Tennis Association, will host the event in Renmark on Saturday 8 October 2022.
The state’s highest level competition will visit regional South Australia for the second time, following the highly successful inaugural event held in Port Lincoln, Eyre Peninsula in 2021.
The eight Tennis SA State League players are being joined by eight local tennis players representing tennis clubs in the region to make two teams for the match consisting of singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
The All Stars will be headlined by former Indian Davis Cup player and 2021-22 Tennis SA State League men’s premiership captain Ashwin Vijayaragavan, alongside 2021-22 Tennis SA State League Player of the Year Cydney Crumbie.
The event will be officially opened and teams will be revealed when players attend An Evening with the Stars aboard The Murray River Queen on Friday 7 October.
The community is encouraged to attend on Saturday 8 October, with a Red Ball Challenge set to kick off festivities at Renmark Tintra Lawn Tennis Club starting at 9:30 am. The Tennis SA State League All Stars match will commence at 11:30 am, with a Family Fun Day to run throughout the day.
On Sunday 9 October, the players will explore the region, taking to the river aboard a Renmark River Cruise to Headings Cliff.
