Cowboys vs. Giants live updates, highlights from ‘Monday Night Football’
(All times Eastern.)
11:27 p.m. FINAL — It’s all over from MetLife Stadium. The Cowboys move to 2-1 thanks to a great performance by CeeDee Lamb and an impressive second half by Cooper Rush. Their defense also showed out, making life difficult for Daniel Jones and Co. all night long.
11:25 p.m. — A sad ending to the night for the Giants just became even worse because Sterling Shepard was hurt on that last play. It was a non-contact injury and he was in a lot of pain. He just got carted off the field.
11:22 p.m. INTERCEPTION — That’ll do it. Trevon Diggs picks off Daniel Jones to put this game on ice. The first turnover of the game comes at the worst possible time for the Giants.

11:18 p.m. — The Giants get a HUGE stop. The Cowboys opt to throw it on 3rd down and they complete it to Jake Ferguson but he’s stopped short of the sticks. He also ran out of bounds, stopping the clock. The Giants get the ball back at their own 11-yard line needing a touchdown to stay in it. There’s 1:50 left on the clock and they have no timeouts.
11:15 p.m. TWO-MINUTE WARNING — With two minutes left, the Cowboys are facing 3rd and 7. A first down wins the game. If they fail to convert, the Giants will get the ball back with a little over 60 seconds left to find the end zone.
11:13 p.m. — Tony Pollard plows up the middle for a crucial first down. The Giants use their last timeout with 2:40 left on the clock.
11:11 p.m. — The Cowboys get the ball back with a seven-point lead and 3:37 left on the clock. A couple of first downs should allow them to salt this one away.
Cowboys 23, Giants 16
11:09 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Graham Gano comes on looking to make it a seven-point game and drills it through from 51 yards out.

11:06 p.m. — On 3rd and 10, Jones scrambles left but he’s swarmed by a couple Cowboys defenders and gives up an intentional grounding penalty.
11:02 p.m. — The Giants need points and they need them now. Jones gets the drive off to a good start with three straight completions, then an illegal hands to the face call against the Cowboys moves them up to around the Dallas 30-yard line.
Cowboys 23, Giants 13
10:58 p.m. FIELD GOAL — The Cowboys can’t pick up a first down, but Turpin’s return gave them stellar starting field position at the New York 35-yard line. On 4th and 1, Mike McCarthy plays it safe and sends on Maher, who delivers with another field goal to make it a two-possession game.
10:55 p.m. — The Giants can’t answer. A couple of drops by Sterling Shepard and Kenny Golladay, plus a delay of game penalty, add up to a quick three-and-out. KaVontae Turpin gives the Cowboys a nice return and they’ve got all the momentum on their side.
10:51 p.m. — My goodness. Welcome to the CeeDee Lamb show. The young receiver just absolutely took over on that last drive. Credit also goes to Rush, who has looked more than capable of leading his offense in the second half.
Cowboys 20, Giants 13
10:47 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — CEEDEE LAMB. OH WOW. That is an absolutely spectacular one-handed touchdown catch. Lamb had just made another grab to move the ball down to the 1-yard line, and Rush went straight back to him on the ensuing play to cash in. Dallas is back on top.

10:45 p.m. — Dallas converts and it’s Lamb again. His sixth grab of the night moves the chains and keeps the momentum with the Cowboys.
10:44 p.m. — On 3rd and 4, Rush looks for Lamb again but he can’t make the grab. It brings up 4th down, and it appears the Cowboys are going for it. Huge play coming up.
10:41 p.m. — Rush makes a nice throw to Lamb to pick up 17 yards and move across midfield.
10:35 p.m. — The Giants get a break via an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Dallas, but they can’t take advantage. Jones’ pass on an ensuing 3rd and 6 falls incomplete to send the punting team on.
10:32 p.m. — After a slow first half, this game finally came to life in the third quarter. Which offense can keep it going long enough to lead their team to a win?
End of third quarter: Giants 13, Cowboys 13
10:29 p.m. — No doubt the last few minutes have had big fantasy implications for a lot of people. Saquon and Zeke have both found pay dirt this quarter. Here’s hoping they’re on your roster and not your opponent’s.
Giants 13, Cowboys 13
10:25 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — What a response by the Cowboys! Noah Brown makes a couple of grabs to move them down to the 1-yard line, and Ezekiel Elliot does the rest. After a sluggish first half, this game is heating up.

10:23 p.m. — Cooper Rush responds with a great throw to CeeDee Lamb down the sideline on the first play of the drive. Three plays later, Rush finds tight end Peyton Hendershot for a big gain to move into the red zone.
Giants 13, Cowboys 6
10:16 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — There’s the big play the Giants have been craving. Saquon breaks a few tackles up the middle before bouncing to the outside and finding daylight. He books it to the left corner of the end zone to score the first touchdown of the night! What a run, and what a season he’s having so far.
.@Saquon for 6! 💪

10:12 p.m. — Jones keeps making things happen with his legs. He trots for a 14-yard gain, then Cowboys rookie Sam Williams gets flagged for a late hit out of bounds. But hang on, it won’t count. Sterling Shepard came off the bench to exchange some words which drew an offsetting unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. They’ll run it back on 2nd down.
10:07 p.m. — It’s a three-and-out for the Cowboys on their first possession of the half. Rush almost found Jalen Tolbert down the sideline for a big gain on 3rd down, but the rookie couldn’t haul it in.
Cowboys 6, Giants 6
10:04 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Gano puts it through from 51 yards out. We have something of a kicking battle on our hands here at MetLife Stadium.
10:02 p.m. — Trevon Diggs just came inches away from a possible pick-six. A risky pass from Jones on 3rd and 10 went straight through his hands, and he had a lot of open field in front of him. Gano will come on for another field goal try.
9:59 p.m. — A familiar theme for New York: every time they get some momentum, they start moving backwards. A holding penalty backs them up 10 yards before Donovan Wilson comes up with a sack on Jones. Demarcus Lawrence looks like he was hurt on the play. Some bad news there for the Cowboys defense.
9:57 p.m. — Daniel Jones is finding some room to run early in the second half. He already has a couple of nice runs to move it onto Dallas’ side of the field.
9:54 p.m. — Demarcus Lawrence is having himself a night. He just logged his third sack on Daniel Jones and we’re less than two minutes into the 3rd quarter.
That’s a hat trick for @TankLawrence ‼️

9:53 p.m. — Maher kicks off to get the second half underway. The Giants will get the ball first.
9:51 p.m. — A glance at the stat sheet will tell you that the offensive bright spots tonight have been the running backs on both sides. Pollard and Elliot have combined for 126 rushing yards for Dallas, while Barkley has 58 total yards for New York.
9:43 p.m. — Well, that was an ugly half of football. Both offenses have struggled, especially in the red zone. We’ll see if either team can find a spark after the break.
End of first half: Cowboys 6, Giants 3
9:38 p.m. — Rush completes it to Simi Fehoko to give Maher a shot at a 59-yard field goal to end the half. But Maher tugs it left and the kick is no good.
9:34 p.m. — Weird sequence there. Barkley gets the ball on 3rd and 23 and almost picks up a first down after a gain of 21. Then, strangely, Dallas took a timeout with 10 seconds left in the half. The Giants went for it on 4th and 2 but failed to pick up the first down. Now, Dallas gets the ball back near midfield.
9:31 p.m. — Jones hits a wide open Kenny Golladay to apparently move into Cowboys territory, but the play is called back for offensive pass interference. That was… another strange call. It looked like Sterling Shepard, who got called for the penalty, inadvertently ran into the defender. Giants head coach Brian Daboll is furious on the sideline.
9:27 p.m. — The Giants rack up a couple of nice gains on a Jones scramble and pass to Richie James, but the Cowboys get a sack and proceed to use their first timeout. 42 seconds left in the half, ball on the Giants’ 42-yard line.
9:24 p.m. TWO-MINUTE WARNING — With two minutes to play, Daniel Jones has the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead before halftime.
9:20 p.m. — Another Cowboys drive runs out of gas. A couple of Rush incompletions set up 4th down from the Giants’ 40-yard line, and Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy sends out the punting team.
9:16 p.m. — That sound you just heard was a collective groan from Cowboys fans around the country. CeeDee Lamb just dropped what should have been a huge gain and possibly a touchdown. Very uncharacteristic for the usually dependable wideout.
9:14 p.m. — A holding penalty goes against Dallas and sets up 3rd and 12, but Elliot breaks loose for a big gain to move the chains. Important play for Dallas to keep some momentum.

9:08 p.m. — If you haven’t heard, Micah Parsons is really good at football. He just ran right through Giants offensive lineman Mark Glowinski to disrupt the play on 3rd and 13. That’s a three-and-out, and New York has to punt it away.
Cowboys 6, Giants 3
9:05 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Maher puts it through from 28 yards to re-establish the Dallas lead.
9:03 p.m. — After that huge play, the Cowboys’ offense stalls out. A pair of short gains set up 3rd and 3, then Rush’s pass intended for Brown falls incomplete. That looked like it probably should have been defensive pass interference… But bullet dodged for New York as the field goal unit comes on once again.
9:00 p.m. — Tony Pollard comes up with the biggest play of the night so far, ripping off a 46-yard run to put the Cowboys in the red zone immediately.

Cowboys 3, Giants 3
8:57 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Gano connects from 42 yards out to tie things up.
8:55 p.m. — After a first down sack by the Cowboys, a short completion sets up 3rd and 5. Jones’ pass is tipped and falls incomplete to let the Dallas defense get off the field.
8:52 p.m. — Jones takes off for a nice pickup to move the chains again, then Saquon barrels ahead for his best run of the night. New York is within field goal range.
8:50 p.m. — On 3rd and 1, Matt Breida runs a sweep to pick up another Giants first down.
End of first quarter: Cowboys 3, Giants 0
8:45 p.m. — A few chunk plays by the Giants have moved them to near midfield as the first quarter winds down.
Cowboys 3, Giants 0
8:42 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Brett Maher knocks through the chip shot to give Dallas the lead.
8:41 p.m. — Ezekiel Elliot gets stuffed twice, then a false start backs up the Cowboys. Rush throws on 3rd down but it’s incomplete, and there was another penalty anyways. Another field goal try incoming.
8:37 p.m. — Cooper Rush continues to show great chemistry with Noah Brown, who’s off to a hot start this season. The two link up for a couple of completions to move deep into Giants territory. They’ve got 1st and goal at the 5-yard line.
8:35 p.m. — Think Dak enjoyed that block?

8:30 p.m. — Three straight Jones incompletions bring up 4th down. Graham Gano trots on for a 47-yard field goal attempt.
8:27 p.m. — Another Jones completion, this time to Daniel Bellinger, has the G-men closing in on the red zone.
8:25 p.m. — The Cowboys thought they forced a 4th down, but a defensive holding call keeps the drive alive. Two plays later, Jones finds Saquon Barkley for a 13-yard pickup.
8:22 p.m. — A holding penalty kills the Cowboys’ momentum. After a short gain on 3rd and long, the Cowboys have to punt it away. Daniel Jones gets the ball for the first time.
8:17 p.m. — Rush finds CeeDee Lamb for a 15-yard gain on the first play from scrimmage, then Tony Pollard scurries for another first down. A bright start for the Dallas offense.
8:15 p.m. — The Giants kick it away, with the Cowboys getting the ball first. Let’s see what Cooper Rush can do on the opening drive.
8:12 p.m. — Kickoff is coming up in just a few minutes. If the Giants win tonight, they’ll join Miami and their NFC East rivals Philadelphia as the only undefeated teams left in the NFL.
7:59 p.m. — Saquon Barkley looks fired up for this one. The Giants would start a season 3-0 for the first time in 13 years with a win tonight.
