BECKER — Brainerd’s Ella Chaussee battled Becker’s Ayla Brown for a 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles as the Warriors bested the Becker Bulldogs 5-2 Thursday, Sept. 29. Lydia Olson tallied a win a No. 3 singles for the Warriors while Claire Erdahl-Ericah Folden, Ellie Brown-Lydia Omberg and Brooklyn Dietz-Hannah Hayes all registered doubles wins.
“It was a great competitive match for us as we round out our regular season schedule,” said head coach Lisa Salo. “We celebrate this win and tomorrow we turn our focus to section play.”
Brainerd will find out where it will be seeded for the upcoming Section 7-2A team tournament 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, during a coaches’ meet. The Warriors’ opening-round playoff game will likely be at home Tuesday, Oct. 4.
Warrior junior varsity winners included Jessica Cole, Brooke Mullholland, Lily Knoepke, Sophie Schamber, Kaya Anderson, Olivia Dehning-Jessica Cole, Lauren Castle-Reese Glynn, Leah Soukup-Rebekah Soukup, Lily Knoepke-Taylor Harrington and Olivia Dehning-Reese Glynn.
