Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers believes it is “such a shame” that midfielder James Maddison is not in the England national team squad.
Maddison, 26, scored twice and assisted once in Leicester’s 4-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Monday, continuing his strong start to the season.
But despite his form, Maddison was not selected in Gareth Southgate’s most recent England squad. The former Norwich City man has not played for his country since making his debut in November 2019, a substitute appearance against Montenegro.
