Reilly Smith‘s three-point night (2G, 1A) powered the Vegas Golden Knights to a 6-4 win against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Los Angeles opening the scoring early as Kevin Fiala and Gabriel Vilardi found the back of the net in the first half of the opening frame. Late in the period, Smith got Vegas on the board, but the Kings carried a 2-1 lead into the break. The middle frame was all VGK as Brayden McNabb, Chandler Stephenson and Jonathan Marchessault all found the back of the net to help the Golden Knights take a 4-2 advantage. After Trevor Moore’s goal cut into the Vegas lead, Smith scored again to rebuild the two-goal cushion for Vegas. A late LA goal was answered by an empty-netter from Alex Pietrangelo as the Golden Knights earned a 6-4 win.
