Zverev could not be any happier after winning the Tokyo Olympics
Zverev has won on every level except the Grand Slam level but it was the gold medal from Tokyo that stood out for him.
Zverev, who has Masters and an ATP Finals title in his collection, couldn’t hide his happiness after winning the Tokyo Olympics as he described it as “a dream come true.” “It was my dream to participate at the Olympics for my country.
But to win the gold medal is simply unbelievable and I have no words to describe the way I feel right now. It is a dream come true! Thank you to my family, my team, my fans, everyone who supported me and to the whole country of Germany!
We are Olympic Champions!!!” Zverev wrote on Instagram after winning the Tokyo Olympics. Meanwhile, Zverev is preparing to return to action in December. After sustaining several ankle ligaments during his French Open semifinal match versus Rafael Nadal, Zverev set the Davis Cup Finals group stage in September as his comeback date.
Then in Hamburg, Zverev sustained a bone edema, which ultimately ended his 2022 season. Just over a week ago, Zverev returned to the practice court. In December, Zverev is expected to make his long-awaited return at the Diriyah Tennis Cup in Saudi Arabia. The Diriyah Tennis Cup takes place between December 08-10 as Zverev is set to highlight the event.
