This high-profile NFC East matchup might’ve lost some of its appeal when the Cowboys lost last weekend, but the game certainly didn’t disappoint. Gardner Minshew matched Dak Prescott throw-for-throw until the end, when turnovers ultimately cost the Eagles their 14th win of the season.
An early pick-six by Josh Sweat put Philadelphia in front 10-0, but Prescott would respond with some methodical drives to quickly get the Cowboys back into the game.
Minshew and Prescott traded touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters, but it all unraveled for the Eagles in the final five minutes. An interception by Minshew, his second of the game, led to a Dallas field goal, and a crucial fumble by Miles Sanders set up another field goal to extend the Cowboys’ lead to six.

You can’t say the Eagles didn’t fight. They still had a chance to win the game in the final two minutes and got all the way to the edge of the red zone before the Cowboys’ defense turned up the pressure and produced the game-saving stop.
While the Cowboys are certainly thrilled with the win, this game confirmed much of what we already knew: Minshew is absolutely capable backup, the Cowboys’ pass defense is still an issue, and both teams have ultra-talented receivers. Could we see a much-needed playoff rematch next month with both Prescott and Jalen Hurts healthy?

Dallas still faces a difficult path to winning the NFC East, but that door remains open after the victory today.
The Eagles, meanwhile, go into Week 17 still in search of a win to clinch the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye. Whether Hurts will be on the field against the Saints next week is very much in question.

4:25 p.m. — And we’ll see Minshew right away… The Cowboys win the toss and defer.
4:20 p.m. — The burning question coming into this game is how much of the Eagles’ success is due to Jalen Hurts. Hurts has undoubtedly been fantastic, but is the talent of this roster so good that it can still manage a big win with Gardner Minshew under center?
