TATUM, Texas — Pleasant Grove varisty boys soccer team wrapped up the Tatum tournament with two dominant wins this weekend.
The Hawks put a lot of pressure on host Tatum’s defense Friday, coming out with a 9-1 victory. Agbor Fumoso, Landon Beck and Hayes Lawrence each netted two goals, while teammates James Solomon, William Otero and Whit Miller scored one apiece.
On Saturday, Pleasant Grove shut out Waskom, 4-0, on the last day of the tournament.
Lawrence finished with a team-high two goals for the Hawks, and Solomon and Otero each had one.
“Our defense was able to keep pressure off our goalkeeper and played great in this game,” Pleasant Grove coach Jamie Patterson said.
