Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav is excited about a possible test debut against Australia; however, the player is determined to bag the decider T20 international against New Zealand which is set to be played on Wednesday in Ahmedabad. Yadav has been picked by the selectors for the first two tests against Australia but the chances of his playing are quite slim. The player is yet to make his debut in the long format.
Suryakumar Yadav to make his test debut against Australia?
Suryakumar Yadav has been creating a storm with his batting all over the world. The 32-year-old has received plaudits for his explosive form and the Indian team will be banking on his shoulders to get the T20 series in their pocket. Having already proved his mettle in the shorter format, the Mumbai Indians player is planning to replicate his form in the longest form which is regarded as the purest form of cricket.
Yadav has amassed more than 1650 runs in T20s at an astonishing average of 47.17 in 45 innings with three centuries in his bag.
He insisted he would love to play a part in Test cricket but his immediate attention is to win the decider against New Zealand.
“Excited for Test cricket. Everyone wants to play it. When you play domestic cricket, you start with red ball. I have played a lot of first-class games for Mumbai. There’s excitement about Test cricket, obviously, and everyone is aware that it is going to be an exciting series. At the same time, it’s important to stay in the present. As of now, the decider is on our minds. After that is over, there’s enough time to think about Tests,”
The first test against Australia is scheduled to start on 9th February in Nagpur followed by Delhi, Dharamshala, and Ahmedabad.
