MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee women’s golf starts its spring season this weekend at a unique event in the world of golf, the Florida State Match-Up. Held at Seminole Legacy Golf Club, FSU’s on-campus course, the tournament pairs teams together to compete as partners while also competing in a traditional tournament format.
The field at this year’s Florida State Match-Up features No. 3 Oregon, No. 16 Florida State, No. 20 Arizona, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Kent State, Mercer, Miami, Middle Tennessee State, Missouri, Oregon State, and Virginia Tech. The Match-Up portion of the tournament will be determined by taking the best four scores from the partners (out of ten players in the two lineups) and the worst score to make the Match Up team total. At the end of the tournament, the teams with the lowest score will win the Match Up. An individual champion and a team champion will also be crowned.
The Match-Up pairings are as follows:
Florida State/Virginia Tech
Missouri/Coastal Carolina
Mercer/Middle Tennessee State
Oregon/Arizona
Clemson/Kent State
Miami/Oregon State
Tee times will begin at 7:30 CT each day.
WEATHER FORECAST
The forecast for Tallahassee over the weekend calls for mostly cloudy conditions and highs in the low 80s with a minimal chance of rain.

COACH ADAMS ON THE START OF THE SPRING SEASON
“We’re excited to get to play,” head coach Chris Adams said. “We’re going somewhere nice and warm. We’ve had some good weather to practice in, but we’ve also had some bad weather. Courses are just dormant, and were very excited about getting out and facing a good, challenging field. It’s loaded. It’s a top-heavy field. We’re excited to play against somebody besides ourselves.”
