WALLACE, N.C. – Paced by a third-place finish from senior Hanako Kawasaki, the Boston University women’s golf team placed tied for sixth among 14 teams at the River Landing Classic, which wrapped up play on Tuesday at River Landing Golf Club.
Kawasaki shot a one-under 71 in the final round to move up two spots and finish in a tie for third at even par. The Terriers posted a 301 on Tuesday and tied with Kennesaw State, just three strokes behind Charlotte.
Sophomore Flair Kuan finished tied for 16th at +4 after being -2 through the first two rounds. Freshman Christy Chen turned in the second-best score on the team Tuesday with a 74 to move up four spots to a tie for 51st along with junior Kristen Min Ju Kim. Junior Alice Fan ended up tied for 57th with a 231 (+15).
The Terriers will return to action in three weeks when they compete in the Babs Steffens Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla.
