Trouble flared at the end of a Scottish Junior Cup clash in Ayrshire this afternoon as fighting broke out between supporters.
The ugly scenes happened at Barrfields in Largs after visitors Petershill beat Theesel 3-2 in a crunch quarter-final tie.
Seconds after both teams went into the dressing rooms, pockets of fighting broke out as dozens of rival fans congregated near the exit to the stadium.
Punches and kicks were traded and, at one point, a bottle was thrown in the melee. One scrap even spilled onto the park as officials from both clubs struggled in vain to calm the situation.
Players emerged from the dressing rooms to witness the scenes before police arrived and dispersed the crowd.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.30pm on Saturday, March 12, police were called to a disturbance at Barrfields Stadium, Brisbane Road, Largs.
