WILMINGTON, DE – The Cleveland Charge (6-22) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, were defeated on the road by the Delaware Blue Coats (19-9), 116-101, at the 76ers Fieldhouse on Friday night.
Cleveland’s Cameron Young had his fifth consecutive 25+ point scoring game by netting 29 on 12-of-21 from the field with four assists in 42 minutes. Tacko Fall posted his 14th double-double of the season, scoring 20 points on 9-of-12 from the field with 13 rebounds and three blocks in 28 minutes. Jawun Evans scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished eight assists in 34 minutes off the bench.
Norvel Pell added 14 points and six boards in 24 minutes of relief. Mitch Ballock scored 15 points on 5-of-13 from three-point range. Down 87-59 entering the fourth quarter, the Charge score 42 points in the final frame, including 13 from Young and 11 from Fall, to pull within 12 but could never get any closer. Cleveland turned the ball over 21 times for 29 points to Delaware’s 11 miscues for 14 points.
Delaware’s Myles Powell came off the bench to lead the team with 26 points and seven boards in 24 minutes of relief. Charles Bassey posted a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds with three blocks in 31 minutes. Shaquille Harrison scored 13 points, dished seven assists and nabbed four steals in 31 minutes for the Blue Coats.
