In the men’s and women’s Tours there is always great curiosity when a young talent enters the Tours. This is the case of the sixteen-year-old and talented Czech Linda Fruhvirtova: this young tennis player has been talked about for some time and there are many who foresee a great future for her.
In the last hours, Linda won her first victory in a WTA 1000, thanks to the success in three sets against the Belgian Elise Mertens, current number 24 in the world (the tennis player is recently in a waning phase). After winning the first set the Czech suffered the reaction of the most experienced tennis player but she then easily closed in the third set.
At the end of the match this very young tennis player looked radiant and very optimistic: “This is definitely my best tournament ever so far. I had never played against one of the top 25 in the world and what happened is fantastic.
I can’t believe it, I’m really happy I won. I’ve worked so hard to get there and I feel really happy. ”
Linda Fruhvirtova and future goals
The precocious tennis player appeared very ambitious and talked about her future goals: “My goal is to become number one in the world, I want to win Grand Slam tournaments.
I have always said, speaking with my sister, that these are my great goals.” In men’s tennis there is the eighteen year old Spanish Carlos Alcaraz, a tennis player who in recent months has achieved success after success and is slowly climbing the ATP rankings.
Now women’s tennis also has a promising and talented 16-year-old who can’t wait to try to retrace the Spaniard’s footsteps. To tell the truth, the women’s Tour is very young, just think of the American Coco Gauff, now eighteen but in the women’s circuit for years now and many are following this path.
The same new number one in the world, the Pole Iga Swiatek, has been in the Tour for a few months and continues to rake in interesting results. At the moment Iga, despite her young age, appears to be the most promising in the WTA panorama.
