KS Viswanathan, CSK CEO, said, “We started off with the Junior Super Kings, where the likes of Washington Sundar, Shahrukh Khan and Sai Sudarshan were part of the group. The management was keen on the state of the art academy.”

Mike Hussey, CSK batting coach, called this an important day for the franchise. “It’s a great opportunity for young boys and girls to be part of something special. Everyone has got an opportunity to improve their game. It’s a chance to improve their cricket, which is important, but also a chance to improve as people.”
CSK star Deepak Chahar said being part of the franchise will help the players to become better. “I have improved as a person and as an athlete after joining the CSK family. I can give that guarantee to everyone, the parents and kids…I don’t know how many will play for the country or the state but there is one guarantee that you will surely become a better person and all of you will be treated equally,” he said.
The academies have begun with Summer Camps and will operate throughout the year. Registrations to join the academy are open. Parents of beginners or prior coached children can enrol at www.superkingsacademy.com.
The Super Kings Academy starts with two centres – one in Chennai (Thoraipakkam) and one in Salem (Salem Cricket Foundation) – and will expand to other centres in future.
