The Los Angeles Rams will look to add more weapons via the upcoming NFL Draft to shore up their roster and defend the Super Bowl title. While there are plenty of options, one guy already feels he would be the perfect fit for the team.
Defensive lineman Ali Fayad of Western Michigan saw his stock soar after being named MAC Defensive Player of the Year. In a story by Heavy, the relatively unknown prospect touted his underdog mentality. He also said he learned a lot from watching the Rams last season, especially defensive end Von Miller, who has since jumped ship to the Buffalo Bills.
“If you watch the way I pass rush, I have a killer dip where my knuckle goes to the ground and I have a spin move that makes offensive linemen lost sometimes.”
At 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds, Fayad may be considered undersized, but he said he can make up for it with his natural instincts and dogged approach. With the way he closely observed the Rams, he knows can be an asset for coach Sean McVay. Plus, with Miller gone, Fayad could find himself a spot.
“Watching the Rams play in the Super Bowl, especially every game in the playoffs, I was watching their edge rushers and what their guys were doing to see if I could implement that in my game. I would love to contribute to them and help them win more games. I can learn from the best, get my feet wet and then take over and play an outside linebacker position.”
The Rams are not slated to pick in the 2022 NFL Draft until the third round.
