Day two of the two day Class 4A Region IV tennis tournament is scheduled today at Corpus Christi’s HEB Tennis Center.
The tourney competition was set to get underway yesterday.
Complete results from the regional tourney will be reported in next Thursday’s edition of the Uvalde Leader-News.
Uvalde High School sent eight players to the regional tournament, including Elizabeth Phillips, Allison Goggans, Ty Gonzalez, and Jonathan Garcia in singles, and the teams of Jack Brock and Colton Gaston, and Reilly Mize and Reagan Dodson.
“I am excited about the regional tournament. Our kids will face some really good competition in the tournament,” said UHS head tennis coach Terri Rambie. “Our kids play better when they face better competition, because it makes them stay focused and their mental toughness has to be there in every single point of the match.”
The top finishers in the regional tournament will advance to the state tournament at San Antonio later this month.
