Wabash shot its fifth-best round of the season in Saturday’s second round of the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship at the Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio. The Little Giants, unfortunately, dropped one spot to fifth in the team scoring heading into Sunday’s final day of the tournament.
Wabash carded a round of 310 as a team to finish with a two-day score of 624. Allegheny fired a round of 291 on Saturday to finish three-over par as a team for the day to move past both Wabash and Denison into third place in the team scoring with a two-round score of 613. Denison repeated its first-day score of 307 to stay ahead of Wabash in fourth place with a score of 614. Kenyon shot a two-under-par 286 on Saturday to take a commanding 13-stroke lead over second-place Wittenberg. Kenyon finished the second round with a total score of 592 (306-286) with Wittenberg in second with a score of 605 (302-303). DePauw is in sixth place with a total of 647 strokes (323-324).
Brayden Weiss shot a one-over-par 73 on Saturday to remain in the top five in the individual scoring. He is tied for fourth place with a two-round score of 147. Kenyon’s Nick Lust leads the individual field with a two-round score of 139 (five-under par) after shooting a round of eight-under-par 64 on Saturday.
Lewis Dellinger carded a 79 on Saturday and enters Sunday’s final round with a score of 157 tied for 15th place overall. Hyatt Hines is 23rd out of 45 golfers competing at the tournament after shooting a 77 on Saturday for a two-round score of 159.
Mark Poole got off to a hot start Saturday before finishing with a round of 83 for a two-day score of 163 to tie for 30th heading into Sunday. Miles Patterson is in 34th place with a two-round score of 167 after carding an 81 on Saturday.
Sunday’s final round begins at 9 a.m. with Wabash scheduled to begin with Patterson teeing off at 9:45 a.m.
