The Andalusia Tennis Association, in conjunction with the City of Andalusia, is excited to hold its 20th Summer Tennis Camp.
The camp has been an annual summer program for the past 20 years offering local children ages 5 to 18 the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game and to play competitively with one another. The ATA camp is dedicated to instilling a love of tennis in our youth by offering lessons with a certified tennis professional.
The camp will be held on the LBWCC tennis courts Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for the weeks of June 7, 14, 21, 28, and July 12 and 19. The cost of six weeks of camp and a camp tee shirt is $25 per camper; $45 for two campers and $60 for three or more campers. Any child unable to pay the registration fee may apply for a scholarship at Leisure Services.
Class ages and times are as follows:
- 5-8 year olds from 8 to 9 a.m.
- 9-10 year olds from 9 to 10 a.m.
- 11 year old and up beginner from 10 to 11 a.m.
- 11 year old and up intermediate or advanced from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Registration is from May 1 to 15 at Johnson Park, online at www.cityofandalusia.com, or campers may register at the courts throughout the camp dates.
The ATA asks that each camper bring a tennis racquet, wear tennis shoes and bring plenty of water. The camp has several tennis racquets for campers who don’t have one of their own.
The Andalusia Tennis Association is a non-profit, federally tax-exempt organization. Anyone wishing to donate may do so by sending a check to ATA; PO Box 955; Andalusia, AL 36420.
