Hi-Liners Tennis Doubles Up Shanley

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liners tennis team traveled for their game on Tuesday. They were on the road and defeated Shanley 6-3.

Singles:

1. Breck Sufficool lost to Maddi Abbott 3-6, 6-4, 11-9
2. Olivia Ingstad lost to Julia Wolf 7-5, 6-3
3. Abby Martineck defeated Lucy Tharaldson 6-4, 6-0
4. Kailee Nielson defeated Ryan Careaga 6-1, 6-3
5. Abby Redfearn defeated Paige Friederichs 6-0, 6-0
6. Georgia Zaun defeated Mary Wolf 6-4, 6-4

Doubles:

1. Sufficool/Ingstad lost to Abbott/J.Wolf 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-3
2. Martineck/Redfearn defeated Tharaldson/Friederichs 6-3, 6-0
3. Nielson/Zaun defeated Careaga/Mathison 6-2, 6-0

Coach Matt Nielson had this to say “Island Park with three different court locations made me very thankful today for the volunteer coaches this year and over the years!  Abby Redfearn won her match in the stadium court 6-0, 6-0 before I even made it there.  It was tough to see enough tennis of each match to then give valuable coaching.  As our players all have great heads about them, they did a great job of reflecting and making in match changes on their own.  Today was a great team win against a good Shanley team.”

Next up, Fargo South comes to town for a match on Thursday at 4pm. The Hi-Liners will  follow that up on Friday with a double header starting at 10am at home in a non-conference versus Williston followed by an EDC match against Wahpeton directly afterwards.
