Cadiz Women’s Golf League
The Play of the Day for the Cadiz Women’s Golf League on June 1 was “Foursomes with Pairs Alternating Shots.” The hostesses were Sherry Sapon and Brenda Hartley.
The first-place team consisted of Sherry Sapon, Brenda Hartley, Kathy Smith and Billie Stanwick. Ann Milleson and Tamara Dulaney were the second-place team. Sherry Sapon had a chip-in on hole No. 6.
A brief business meeting was held after lunch with Guest Day discussed. Next week’s hostesses are Laura Daily and Donna Griffin. The play of the day will be “N.O.S.E.”
On June 8, the Cadiz Women’s Golf League was hosted by Laura Daily and Donna Griffin. The Play of the Day was “N.O.S.E.”
The winners were: First place, Roberta Cireddu; second place, Kathy Newburn; and third place, Donna Griffin.
The putt winners were Kathy Newburn (28); Janis Cook (30); and Joanne Hardman and Tracy Amos tied with 31 putts each. Janis Cook, Billie Stanwick, Joanne Hardman and Jan Shultz had birdies. Chip-ins were recorded by Donna Griffin, Kathy Smith Kathy Newburn, Linda Tyson, Carole Patton, Marilyn Kenny, Tracy Amos and Jan Shultz.
Next week’s hostesses will be Denise Augustine and Bonnie Beetham, and the Play of the Day will be “Alternate the Pink Ball.”
Highland Springs Ladies League
On June 6 the women of the Highland Springs Ladies League played “Three Blind Mice.”
The winning team was Tammy Koutsky, Neysa McCart and Dottie Virtue. The longest drive on hole No. 13 was claimed by Ruth Lamantia. The prize for closest to the pin, second shot on hole No. 17, went to Brenda McCloskey. Yuko Atwell recorded the lowest number of putts for the evening.
Town and Country
Town and Country Golf had Medal Play on June 2.
Gross winners were: A flight, Laura Froehlich; B flight, Pat Zorne; and C flight, Shirley Guida. Net winners were: A flight, Kathy Antinone; B flight, Norma Henson; and C flight, Jeanne Dowden. Low putts (tie) were Rose Kaczmarek and Froehlich.
