In a hilarious rant about the difference between NBA and NFL salaries, Odell Beckham Jr. couldn’t help but joke about how easy it is for basketball players to get money.
On Twitter, OBJ joked that he can no longer be friends with NBA players because they have it too easy, noting that a player can get a max after playing just one good season. He then proceeded to ask if there’s any basketball coach who wants to work with him as he rehabs, which is meant as a joke as if he’s eyeing to make a jump to pro basketball.

While Odell Beckham Jr. is clearly just having fun, there is definitely some truth about his statement. Considering the money that comes to the NBA with their TV deal, merchandise and other income stream, a lot of players can be considered overpaid.
As the NFL wideout said, there were even NBA players who got the max contract (or are in talks to get one) despite having just one good season in the league.
But hey, that’s how the business works. With more money coming, the players also benefit. Not to mention that there are way fewer NBA players compared to the NFL, hence the salaries are skewed.
Luckily for Beckham, though, he is on the top end of players who has great salaries in the NFL.
