Report: Porter, Raptors agree to deal
The Toronto Raptors have added some 3-point shooting and defense to their mix, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. Swingman Otto Porter Jr. has agreed to a two-year deal with the Raptors after playing a vital role on the Golden State Warriors’ championship team last season. Porter, the former No. 3 overall pick of the 2013 draft, averaged 8.2 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 1.5 apg during the season and hit 40.4% of his 3-pointers in the playoffs.

Mavs reportedly keep Pinson in fold
Dallas is keeping reserve swingman Theo Pinson, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, after he and the Mavs agreed to a one-year deal. Pinson, who was an undrafted player, averaged 2.5 ppg and 1.1 rpg in 19 games for the Mavs in 2021-22.

Hawks, Holiday reach reported deal
The Atlanta Hawks continue to remodel their backcourt, agreeing to a one-year deal with guard Aaron Holiday, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic. Holiday, who averaged 6.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg and 2.4 apg last season with Washington and Phoenix, will join an Atlanta team that recently traded for All-Star guard Dejounte Murray and saw guards Delon Wright (Washington) and Kevin Knox (Detroit) leave the Hawks after reaching reported deals elsewhere on June 30.

Raptors re-sign veteran forward Young
The Toronto Raptors have re-signed Thaddeus Young to a contract extension, the team announced Friday. Last season, he averaged 6.3 ppg and 4.4 rpg with Toronto after being acquired from the San Antonio Spurs at the trade deadline. “Thad is a high-level professional who complements our core very well, he integrated himself into the fabric of the team last season and we’re excited he chose to re-sign here in Toronto,” said Raptors GM Bobby Webster. “He is a smart and versatile player who will continue to provide valuable leadership to our younger players on the court and in the locker room.”

Reports: Robinson returns to Knicks on 4-year deal
Mitchell Robinson and the Knicks have reportedly agreed to a four-year, $60 million deal that will keep the big man in New York, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News. Robinson has steadily improved since being drafted by New York with the 36th pick in the 2018 draft. Last season he averaged 8.5 ppg, 8.6 rpg and 1.8 bpg and has averaged 2.0 bpg or more in two of his first four NBA seasons.

Brown, Nuggets agree to reported deal
Brooklyn Nets defensive swingman Bruce Brown has agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with the Denver Nuggets, per Malika Andrews of ESPN and Mike Singer of The Denver Post. Bowen has emerged as one of the NBA’s better 3-and-D players, averaging 9.0 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.1 apg and 1.1 spg last season while hitting 40.4% of his 3-pointers.

Rubio reportedly returns to Cavs
Veteran point guard Ricky Rubio and the Cleveland Cavaliers are ready for a reunion. Per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports and Chris Fedor of The Plain Dealer, Rubio and the Cavs have agreed to a three-year deal worth a reported $18.4 million. The Cavs added Rubio in a 2021 offseason trade and they flourished together, going 20-14 with him in the lineup before he tore his ACL in late December. Rubio was then dealt to the Indiana Pacers as part of the deal to acquire Caris Levert. Overall, he averaged 13.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg and 6.6 apg in 34 games last season.

Report: Williamson, Pelicans closing in on extension
New Orleans Pelicans big man Zion Williamson and the team are nearing an agreement on a five-year, $231 million extension, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic. Williamson played in 24 games as a rookie, then 65 games in his second year — and zero games this season, when the Pelicans overcame a 1-12 start to finish 36-46, then win two Play-In Tournament games and make the playoffs. In the 2020-21 season, Williamson was an All-Star, averaging 27.0 ppg. 7.2 rpg, 3.7 apg while shooting 61.1% overall. Per Charania, the deal is expected to include protections that both Williamson and the Pelicans were sorting out.

Payton, Blazers reportedly finalizing deal
The Portland Trail Blazers continue to stay busy in free agency and are finalizing a three-year contract with Golden State Warriors reserve Gary Payton II, according to multiple reports. Payton posted 7.1 ppg, 3.5 rpg and shot 61.6% last season and was a vital part of Golden State’s championship team. He is a native of the Pacific Northwest and his father, Hall of Famer Gary Payton, crafted the majority of his legendary career not far from Portland with the Seattle Supersonics.

Reports: Towns agrees to $224M extension
Timberwolves All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns has agreed to a four-year, $224 million supermax extension with Minnesota, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Associated Press.
Led by Towns, second-year phenom Anthony Edwards and point guard D’Angelo Russell, the seventh-seeded Timberwolves pushed the second-seeded Grizzlies to the brink in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs before ultimately falling to Memphis.
The No. 1 overall pick in 2015, Towns averaged 24.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 33.5 minutes per game last season.

Report: Morant agrees to extension with Grizzlies
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has agreed to a five-year, $193 million designated rookie maximum extension, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
This extension was merely a formality for the point guard voted the NBA’s Most Improved Player in his third season and who also finished seventh in voting for league MVP.
The deal is worth at least $193 million and potentially up to $231 million. It’s the largest contract the Grizzlies have ever handed out, topping the max contract of $153 million Mike Conley received in 2016.

Reports: Booker agrees to supermax deal with Suns
Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has agreed to a four-year, $224 million supermax contract extension, according to multiple reports.
A three-time All-Star coming off his first All-NBA campaign — Booker earned First Team honors after averaging 26.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists while shooting 46.6% — this extension would begin with the 2024-25 campaign and link him to Phoenix through 2027-28.
